Love Beth Care Guide

Love Beth jewellery is handmade with care using beautiful materials including gold-filled and gold-plated finishes, crystals, vintage elements and gemstone beads. As these pieces are delicate by nature, a little extra care will help keep them looking their best for longer.

Please note that gold-plated jewellery will naturally show signs of wear over time. The rate at which this occurs will vary depending on how often your jewellery is worn, your individual skin chemistry, and exposure to water, perfume, lotions, and other products.

Storing Your Jewellery

Keep your jewellery in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight, humidity and extreme temperatures. We recommend storing pieces separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box with individual compartments to help prevent scratching, tangling and unnecessary contact between pieces.

Avoid Perfumes, Lotions & Chemicals

Remove your jewellery before using household cleaning products or other harsh chemicals. Beauty products including perfume, lotions, hairspray and cosmetics can also affect gold-filled and gold-plated finishes, potentially causing tarnishing or discolouration.

For best results, apply your beauty products first and allow them to settle before putting on your jewellery as the finishing touch.

Keep Away from Water

We recommend removing your jewellery before swimming, showering, bathing or taking part in activities involving water. Prolonged exposure to water can affect the bond between gold plating or gold layers and the base metal, which may lead to tarnishing or peeling over time.

Cleaning & Polishing

After wearing, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove oils, perspiration and everyday residue.

For a deeper clean, use a small amount of mild soap diluted in lukewarm water. Briefly soak the jewellery before gently cleaning it with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and carefully pat dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Avoid abrasive cloths, materials or harsh cleaning products, as these may scratch or damage delicate finishes and plating.

Handle with Care

Love Beth jewellery is designed to be enjoyed, but delicate pieces should always be handled with care. Remove your jewellery before exercising, playing sports, doing manual work or taking part in activities where it may be exposed to excessive pressure, impact or friction.

Wearing & Layering

We love mixing, matching and layering jewellery, but it's worth remembering that pieces worn together can naturally rub or knock against one another. Over time, this repeated contact may cause wear.

Crystals, glass beads and decorative finishes can be particularly delicate and may be more susceptible to scratching, chipping or surface wear when regularly in contact with other jewellery.

With thoughtful care and gentle handling, you can help preserve the beauty and quality of your Love Beth jewellery for longer. If you have any questions about caring for your jewellery, our Avoca Customer Service team will be happy to help.
